Microsoft is now openly backing Carl Icahn's efforts to eliminate the entire board. Microsoft says they'll consider buying Yahoo again with an all new board of directors. Yahoo wants them to just go ahead and make an offer now. Kara Swisher says we should be focusing on what their 2Q report will say on July 22nd instead of all the drama.

NBC will use their web and mobile coverage of the Olympic games as a "billion dollar research lab." They'll be analyzing all of the traffic on their website to measure user behavior, and as a way to get data for use in future negotiations with online advertisers.
